Who is Zecqueous Morgan-Thompson? Suspect arrested for links to Lincoln University mass shooting

The DA clarified that Morgan-Thompson has been detained and charged for carrying a firearm illegally, but it’s not known yet if the firearm was used in the mass shooting.

“I cannot confirm, however, right now at this time whether or not the gun that was found on him was used in the shooting,” the DA said at Sunday’s presser. “We have further things to do before we can confirm or deny that.”

The details of the suspect who carried out the shooting are unclear at the moment as the investigation continues. The District Attorney said that they believe more than one person could be involved in the shooting, the details of which are likely to be revealed as the probe continues.

The criminal complaints against Morgan-Thompson state that he entered the university with a firearm and was inside the university with it at the time of the shooting on late Saturday evening. He is being lodged in the Chester County Jail on bail of $25,000.

He reportedly admitted to transporting the firearm to the university from Wilmington, Delaware, upon being investigated by the police.

Lincoln University Shooting Update: What We Know So Far

The shooting took place outside a building called the International Culture Center at Lincoln University campus at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. There was a large gathering in that area as alumni and current students celebrated homecoming festivities at the historically Black college located roughly 50 miles southwest of Philadelphia.

The shooter/s reported fired at the students who were socializing after a football match earlier that day in tents and tables outside the building set up specifically for the homecoming celebrations.

One of the victims, a 25-year-old male, died on Saturday night with a gunshot wound to the head. The others remain in critical condition.
