Indian captain Rohit Sharma hasn’t been in the best of form in Test cricket in a while and his poor show has continued during the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy. The lack of runs by the experienced batter have led to his severe criticism with some even going to the extent of questioning if he deserves a place in the Indian XI anymore.
In the middle of all the chatter, a fresh video of team India’s net practice session in Melbourne has emerged where Rohit was outclassed by his fellow teammate and part time spinner Devdutt Paddikal. In video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Paddikal seems to be bowling an off spin delivery to the Indian captain which he misses completely and the ball goes on to hit his stumps.
Rohit Sharma’s injury trouble:
The Indian skipper had also faced an injury in Melbourne during a net session and was later seen getting some attention from the team physio. However, reports indicate Rohit is in good shape and is likely to make it to the Indian team during the Boxind Day Test starting from Decembert 26.
Rohit had missed the first Test match in Perth in order to spend some time with his new born and made his way in the Indian side from the Adelaide Test onwards. In the three innings since then, Rohit has managed scores of 3 and 6 in the 2nd Test and 10 in the first innings of 3rd Test match. The veteran batter would want to shut his critics once and for all in Melbourne, which is expected to be a much better surface for batters compared to the last 3 games.
