‘Nitish Kumar Reddy is confusing team India’: Former chief selector says all-rounder ‘can’t win matches for team with…’

Former Chief Selector MSK Prasad has called for including specialist players in Team India instead of all-rounders like Nitish Kumar. Commenting on Day 2 of the fourth Test, Prasad said, “Nitish Kumar Reddy is creating confusion in Team India.”

“He is not a complete batter and bowler and can’t win matches for the team with his skills. It would have been better to include specialist players,” Crictoday quoted Prasad.

Suggesting the addition of Shubman Gill in Playing XI in the fourth Test, Prasad said that the management was more concerned about the batting part and included Washington Sundar.

“I feel Shubman Gill should have been a part of the Playing XI in the fourth Test, but it seems the management was more concerned about the batting part, including Washington Sundar. There was no need for two spinners, and Harshit Rana or Prasidh Krishna would have been a better option,” he added.

This is not the first time, when experts have called for the addition of Shubman Gill in the Playing XI team. Several other ex-cricketers have also suggested the addition of Gill in the team. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar continue to perform well as a batter in the lower order, and was the only cricketer in lower order to make contribution after KL Rahul.

India vs Australia in Melbourne Day 3

India continued to trail on the third day of the Melbourne test by more than 200 runs on Saturday. Early wickets from Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon in the first session on Day 03 of the Melbourne Test kept Australia in the driver’s seat.

At Lunch on Day 03, India stood at 244/7, with Washington Sundar (5*) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (40*) unbeaten on the crease for the visitors as they trail by 230 runs. India started the first session at 164/5 with Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja on the crease.
