Diogo Jota helped Wolverhampton Wanderers secure Premier League promotion in 2018.

Portuguese forward Diogo Jota, who lost his life in a tragic car accident in Spain earlier this month, has been inducted into Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Hall of Fame as a tribute. Jota, who was contracted with Liverpool at the time of his death, was with his brother Andre Silva (25) when they met with a car accident in the wee hours on July 3.

“Diogo was not only a phenomenal footballer, but someone who carried himself with humility and kindness throughout his time at Wolves, and will be sorely missed by all of us,” Wolves’ director of football administration Matt Wild said in a statement late on Thursday.

Billy Wright, Derek Dougan and Steve Bull are among those already inducted in the club’s Hall of Fame, which was established in 2008.
