IPL 2025: KL Rahul boost for Delhi Capitals; know when former LSG captain returns to action after becoming father

Having missed Delhi Capitals’ first match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Vizag in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday, KL Rahul will be returning to the playing XI in their next match. After not being retained by the LSG last year, KL Rahul was bought for ₹14 crore by Delhi Capitals after the latter let go Rishabh Pant.

While all of his India teammates joined their respective franchises following the Men in Blue’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph, KL Rahul was the last from that squad to join his new IPL franchise.

According to TOI, KL Rahul will don his new Delhi Capitals colours on March 30 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Visakhapatnam.

Despite joining his teammates, KL Rahul missed Delhi Capitals’ IPL 2025 opener on March 24 against his former team LSG as he became father for the first time on that day. The India cricketer and his wife Athiya Shetty posted on social media, “Blessed with a baby girl.”
