iPhone 17 Air design: What we expect
As the iPhone 17 series launch timeline is getting closer, more details surrounding the new models have circulated, giving us hopes for greater upgrades. However, the iPhone 17 Air has become the most talked about device from the series, since it may launch as the slimmest iPhone ever, surpassing the iPhone 6 in thickness. Although a slimmer design sounds promising, but it comes with several compromises which may not be appreciated in the flagship segment.
In terms of design, the iPhone 17 Air will likely come with a glass and titanium build, similar to the iPhone 16 Pro models. It is expected to be the only model in the iPhone 17 series to feature titanium as the Pro models will likely come with an aluminium frame. The iPhone 17 Air could measure between 5.5mm and 6mm in thickness. However, the overall thickness will also be measured based on the camera bump. Talking of camera, the iPhone 17 Air will likely come with a single rear camera setup similar to the iPhone 16e model. Dummy units have highlighted a Pixel-like horizontal camera module for the iPhone 17 Air, making it look attractive.
The smartphone could come with a 6.6-inch display with ProMotion technology and Dynamic Island. Additionally, iPhone 17 Air could also become the first port-free iPhone as the company is planning to remove the USB-C port entirely. Therefore, the smartphone will likely rely on wireless charging. Now, to confirm these claims we will have to wait until the official launch.
