Bengaluru Horror! Drunk altercation at Holi party turns fatal in Anekal – 3 from Bihar dead

Bengaluru suburbs witnessed a gruesome scene during Holi celebrations, when three men were found lying in a pool of blood by the Karnataka Police. A violent altercation broke out in Anekal, resulting in the deaths of three men. The incident unfolded at an under-construction building where six labourers, all hailing from the same village in Bihar, had gathered to mark the festival of colours.

The dispute, sparked by inappropriate comments made about a woman, escalated into a brutal fight involving wooden sticks and iron rods, according to PTI news report.

The deceased have been identified as Radhe Shyam, Deepu, and Ansu of Gopalganj in Bihar.

Here’s What Happened

The incident occurred when the victims were celebrating Holi on Saturday evening along with those workers from their native who were employed in nearby sites, police said.

“We received a call regarding the murder. We immediately rushed to the spot. Upon arrival, we gathered preliminary information that the victims were plumbing and construction workers,” C K Baba, Superintendent of Police, Bengaluru Rural said.

The construction labourers were given a three-day holiday in view of Holi and even the site in-charge had gone on leave.

The victims organised a party to celebrate Holi. They invited a few other labourers from another construction site to join them, he said.

The fight reportedly started after one of the victims received a phone call from the sister of an accused laborer. The victim was in touch with his sister for quite some time now and this led to a heated argument. The situation escalated into a violent altercation. They attacked each other using bottles and iron rods, the senior police officer said.

Two bodies were found on the third floor, while another injured person was found on the ground floor. He was alive when shifted to the ambulance but succumbed to his injuries on the way, he said.

Holi celebrations across India was also marred by violence.

In Delhi’s Dwarka area, another Holi celebration turned violent after a heated argument over splashed colour led to an assault and the vandalism of a taxi.

In Madhya Pradesh, a 64-year-old succumbed to his injuries after he was attacked for objecting to loud music being played during Holi amid school exams in the Maihar district.

The accused and five of his relatives have been booked.

Additionally, two people were allegedly killed in separate incidents in Faridabad, while the body of a 14-year-old boy was found in the Aravalli hills.

A 22-year-old man, identified as Suraj, was beaten to death while mediating in a quarrel, while another man, Deepak, 25, was stabbed to death in an old rivalry.
