Dachshund abused on camera is safe, happy at Waterbury pound, shelter says

WATERBURY – Lola, a dachshund who was seen in a video being abused by a man, is safe and happy at a Waterbury dog pound, according to a social media post from Waterbury Woof Pack CT, a local animal shelter.

The shelter reports she is safe and warm, the post said. She is at the pound under safekeeping status, which means there’s an ongoing investigation, the post said.

Waterbury officers have been searching for the man, who was caught on video striking Lola, police said.

When Lola was found Monday, she was receiving treatment for minor injuries, police said.

This is an ongoing animal abuse investigation, police said.
