This is the hilarious moment a British tourist shouted obscenities as he was chased by a mob of monkeys in Thailand.
Kane Smith shared a video on TikTok which showed him relaxing in a swimming pool with the caption: ‘POV: One minute you’re living the dream in Thailand…the next you’re in a nightmare’.
As the young man films himself, he suddenly catches a glimpse of something and lets out a scream.
Turning the camera, Kane proceeds to show a red-faced stump-tailed macaque climbing over sun loungers as it makes its way to the pool where the Brit is.
‘Go away’, he shouts. ‘F*** off.’
But as the monkey gets closer to the pool, Kane can be heard saying: ‘Oh my f****ing God. Why is it doing that?
‘My God…oh my f****ing God.
‘No, go away’, Kane shouts, as the monkey climbs onto the side of the pool.
A British captured the hilarious yet terrifying moment he was chased by a mob of monkeys in Thailand

The horrific encounter was filmed by Kane Smith, who was filming himself as he relaxed in the pool, when he suddenly spotted a monkey approaching him

As the video continues, more monkeys appear, and suddenly the Brit is surrounded by about a dozen monkeys who watch him from the edge of the pool
Suddenly, another monkey appears in the distance, and heads in the direction of the swimming pool.
‘Oh my God there’s more’, Kane exclaims as he notices the second ape.
‘Oh s**t’.
But it is quickly apparent that the two monkeys are not the only ones around to terrorise Kane, as a third creature makes an appearance and joins his fellow apes.
‘Oh my God there’s a whole family’, Kane screams.
‘I’m scared. S**t, s**t’.
The video then cuts to show at least five monkeys sat on the side of the pool, circling Kane, as he remains trapped in the pool unable to get out.
‘What the f**k’, the Brit says in disbelief.

Kane finally managed to get out the pool, but things took a turn for the worse when two monkeys began chasing him down some stairs

Kane’s video has garnered almost 5 million views on TikTok

Some of the monkeys circling Kane could be seen drinking water from the pool as the petrified Brit feared for his life

Several viewers have praised Kane for capturing the incredible moment on camera

Thailand has had to take steps to manage the macaque population across the country
As two monkeys move down the edge of the pool towards Kane, he says: ‘Don’t you dare come near me…oh f**k’.
But when the situation seems like it can’t get any worse for terrified Kane, a sixth, much larger, monkey appears.
‘Oh s**t, that looks scary’, Kane says as he spots the bigger ape.
The video cuts again to now show at least a dozen monkeys circling the pool.
Some of the creatures appear to drink water, but one of the bigger monkeys continues to get closer and closer to Kane.
The petrified tourist tried to make a quick exit to get away from the intimidating monkeys, but as he tries to leave the pool, two apes start to to chase him as he runs down some stairs to get to safety.
‘No!’, Kane yells. ‘No!’.
The animals suddenly come to a brief halt, but start to chase the Brit again as he is heard screaming: ‘oh shit!, before the video comes to an end.

Commenting on the clip, which has garnered over 4.9 million views on TikTok, Kane said: ‘Honestly the scariest moment of my life. I apologise for all the swearing…kinda thought my life was about to end…Started off with one monkey and then a full gang suddenly appeared’.
Thousands of social media users have commented on the viral video, with several praising Kane for capturing the incredible encounter.
‘This is a cinematic masterpiece. I demand it wins awards. The drama. The never ending monkeys. The giant one. The running. This is glorious’, one bemused user said.
Another commented: ‘As a cameraman, I feel that you gave us all that you can until you had to run for your life’.
‘Please I need a follow up, I’ve never laughed but been to terrified at the same time’, a third said.
It is not clear when and where in Thailand the video was filmed.
The Thai government has been struggling to control aggressive wild monkeys, but has taken steps to manage the macaque population across the country.
Kane’s encounter comes after Thai cops were filmed last year carrying slingshots and tranquiliser guns to combat ‘dangerous’ rampaging monkey gangs terrorising the town of Lopburi.
The tourist town has become synonymous with its out-of-control monkey population.
Police have had to resort to using wooden catapults to fire at the unruly primates, which often climb over cars and steal food from shops and tourists.
Lopburi has been compared by several to an apocalyptic hellscape – with monkeys even commandeering empty buildings.
The animals have even been seen engaging in a massive gang fight in the depths of the pandemic when there was a shortage of food.
Despite the dangers, locals are keen to keep the monkeys in the town as they prove a popular draw for tourists from around the world who feed them sugary treats.
