ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A local St. Charles County restaurant and bar will soon transform its 26-acres into a multi-entertainment complex.

The Quarry, located along Highway Z in New Melle, announced that come next year, their space is expanding to hold more people, more music, and things to do.

Owners Matthew Meier and Rob Roddy were inspired to bring a turf garden space to one of the fastest-growing regions in the state—west St. Charles County.

“We decided to add multiple different spins to it while maintaining the property’s natural ambience,” Meier said. “It has always been our dream to provide something exciting and new for our community.”

The upgrades include 25,000-square-feet of turf, volleyball and pickleball courts, and food trucks. Adding onto their existing quarry, a second one will feature a 30-foot waterfall.

Near the quarry will be a new venue to host parties, receptions, and treehouses to take in the scenery, Meier added. Guests will also be able to hear larger bands on the turf.

Golf fanatics or competitive spirits will have the opportunity to win a prize with a “hole in one” challenge, teeing off from the property to the green located directly in the middle of the quarry—150 to 170 yards out.

While changes will be made on the outside, Meier said they’ll be changing inside details as well, including updated menu’s, faster service time, and servers going directly to tables—a change from customers needing to go to the bar to place an order.

Meier said the community has been “overwhelmingly positive” to the upcoming changes.

“We believe this is partly due to us being two hardworking owners who have invested a lot of our own time and money into bootstrapping this project, doing much of the updates and construction ourselves, using much of our previous experience,” he said. “We’re not big developers by any means; we’re just two passionate, hardworking individuals who believe in providing something amazing for our growing community.”

The project is anticipated to be completed by the second weekend of May. To stay up-to-date on the latest developments, click here.
