Mother-of-one won’t live to see her little son turn three after she learned jealousy over her husband hid a worse truth than she could have imagined

A mother-of-one won’t live to see her child turn three after she learned the shocking reason why she was jealous of her husband.

Chloe Richmond, 25, from Halifax, West Yorkshire had suffered with migraines for years – which doctors had put down to the stress of losing both of her parents at a young age.

When Chloe was 16, her father Nick died of a heart attack in 2016 and three years later her mother Georgina passed away from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

After the death of her mother, Chloe started getting ‘unbearable’ headaches.

‘I put them down to stress at first,’ she said. ‘The doctor said they were migraines brought on by depression after a double bereavement.’

In 2023, Chloe had many a reason to celebrate as she married her husband Joe and they had a little boy called Jonah in October.

But, due to her headaches, the young mother said she would often snap at friends and family members. And it was her husband Joe who seemed to bear the brunt of her anger. 

‘I became really argumentative and angry with my husband,’ she told Sun Health. ‘Now I know these were all symptoms.’

Chloe even admitted that she would get jealous whenever Joe was watching TV as she thought he was looking at other woman.

But it was an argument with Joe that ultimately led her to receive a diagnosis.

After the pair fell out in September, Chloe moved out and went to stay with her brother.

While there, she passed out and became confused – she couldn’t remember where she was or where her son Jonah was. 

Worried family members rushed her to the hospital where she underwent a series of scans.

These tests revealed a brain tumour and she was told that without immediate surgery, she would die.

Although doctors at Leeds General Infirmary managed to remove most of the tumour, Chloe was told that it is malignant (cancerous) and incurable on October 1 – the day before little Jonah’s second birthday.

Within the next few weeks, Chloe will be told how long she has left to live.

If it is a grade three tumour, she could have two years to live. However, if it is a grade four tumour, she may only have less than a year left and she will not see Jonah’s third birthday.

‘I am heartbroken that I will not see my baby son grow up,’ Chloe said.

But the 25-year-old is determined to not let her diagnosis define her.

‘My mum was so brave while she was ill, and I want to be the same,’ she said. ‘My whole focus is Jonah; he is a beautiful little boy, and I want to be there for him.’
