Pope Francis was stable and showing further progress, the Vatican said Saturday, adding that he still required in-hospital therapies despite his improving condition.

“The Holy Father still requires hospital medical therapy, motor and respiratory physiotherapy; these therapies, at present, are showing further, gradual improvements,” the Vatican said in a statement.
