Zara Tindall and her 11-year-old daughter Mia have been spotted enjoying a day out together at Cheltenham Racecourse.

The British royal, 44, and her eldest child made a rare public appearance together on Saturday for the first event of the racing season at the Gloucestershire track.

Princess Anne’s daughter and her husband, former rugby union player Mike Tindall, 47, tend to keep their three children out of the spotlight to protect their privacy.

But the youngsters, including Lena, seven, and Lucas, four, do sometimes attend major royal or sports events.

And as their mother is an Olympic and world champion equestrian, the two-day William Hill Showcase in Cheltenham was a must-do for the family.

Zara was the picture of elegance during her appearance on the second day of the event, opting for a stylish all-brown look.

She donned a caramel-coloured wool coat, belted at the waist, and layered over a black turtleneck.

The royal accessorised with a pair of chocolate knee-high boots and a matching crossbody handbag with gold hardware.

Both the leather goods were from one of her favourite fashion brands, the countryside heritage label Fairfax & Favor, Hello! reports.

Her refined autumnal look was topped off with a coffee-coloured velour headband, gold drop earrings, brown leather gloves, and a pair of round sunglasses.

Zara’s daughter Mia looked just as fashionable, with a similarly colour-coordinated look.

She opted for a black and white striped jumper, with slouchy dark trousers, patent black leather lace-up boots, and a simple black leather crossbody messenger bag.

The young royal had removed her structured grey jacket in the bright race day sunshine, which helped show off her budding sense of fashion to full effect.

The pair, with their matching golden locks loose in the cool October breeze, looked relaxed as they walked through the arena.

The mother-daughter duo chatted happily to each other, with Zara appearing to show Mia something on her phone at one point.

But it was not the first time this year the eldest Tindall showed up at Cheltenham in style.

At the very start of the year, Mia attended the racecourse to watch the New Year’s Day races in a sweet long-sleeved navy blue dress with a white bow pattern.

Eagle-eyed royal observers spotted that the smart frock was from Zara, a high-street brand beloved of the Firm.

And they must have been delighted to see her out and about with her mother again this weekend, after their last public appearance together in August.

Mia watched on at the Hartpury International Horse Trials in Gloucestershire this summer as her mother competed.

Zara has had an impressive equestrian career, winning the Eventing World Championships in 2006 – which saw her named Sports Personality of the Year.

The royal also bagged a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, also in eventing – a combined contest in dressage, cross-country and showjumping.

And she showed off her impressive riding skills at the eventing competition at Hartpury earlier this year, running from August 5 to August 10.

The athlete was snapped dressed for the part, wearing white jodhpurs and a white shirt, with a blue jacket and black helmet as she rode her horse Showtime.

When she was not competing, Zara changed into a light blue hooded sweatshirt, dark blue gilet, baseball cap and clear framed shades.

Meanwhile, Mia, who appeared excited to be at the event and was snapped throwing her arms into the air, wore a matching blue sweatshirt with shorts.

Another image shows the youngster rubbing Showtime’s nose suggesting she shares her mother’s interest in horses.

Zara’s love of the animals was passed down through the family, with her late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II famously having a strong connection with racing.

And her mother Princess Anne was the first member of the British royal family to compete in the Olympic Games, in the equestrian three-day event in Montreal in 1976.

The Princess Royal also completed in multiple European Three-Day Event Championships, taking home gold in 1971 and silver in 1975.

And in 1988, she was made a Member of the International Olympic Committee, a position she has held ever since.

Her granddaughter Mia has long held a place in the nation’s hearts as one of the favourites of the Royal Family, with a series of sweet escapades at public events.

Born on January 17, 2014, at just 7lb 12oz, the tiny bundle of joy has gone on to delight onlookers with her cheeky and playful personality.

She stole the show at Sandringham in 2023 when she joined the now Prince and Princess of Wales and their children to walk to church for the Christmas Day service.

Nine years old at the time, she sweetly held William and Kate’s youngest child Louis’s hand, as he was then only five years old.

Both smiled as they walked along while Mike and Zara were further behind with their second daughter Lena.

After the service, Mia smiled broadly as she took a bouquet of roses from Kate who was greeting crowds.

She had another adorable moment at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee pageant in 2022.

Mia enthusiastically danced and sang along to ABBA with Savannah and Isla Phillips, the daughters of her uncle, Zara’s older brother Peter Phillips.

She has also been seen many times having fun with her mother’s cousins, Princes William and Harry.

Back in 2016, Harry was seen playing with Mia, who was just two years old at the time, while her mother held her at a charity polo match in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
