‘I want to dedicate this award to all my immigrant brothers and sisters in this country. You are loved. You are worth it. I will always fight with you.’

Shakira then referenced to her hit 2009 track She Wolf by adding, ‘To all of those women who worked really hard every day to provide for their families, you are the true She Wolves. So this is for you too.’

‘It doesn’t only talk about pain; it also talks about triumph,’ the award-winning singer further expressed.

‘And that’s why these tears are not tears made of resentment anger or just sadness, but tears of triumph and tears of self-recognition and finding confidence within.’

She added, ‘It’s not linear. There’s ups and downs and valleys and peaks. And this album is made of all of those dynamics.’

The star also stated that ‘there is a great variety within this album. There’s pop, there’s Afrobeat, there’s reggaeton. There’s some Mexican regionals as well. Rock. But there is a common thread.’

‘And that is based off of genuine, authentic life experiences and the process of elaborating those intense emotions and feelings that I’ve been having to deal with during this past couple of years.’

Earlier this week, Shakira was also accused of copying Beyonce for her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.

After the concerts began on Tuesday, social media users were quick to point out some similarities to Shakira’s concert and Beyonce’s record-breaking Renaissance Tour in 2023.

Fans were divided as they shared their thoughts on X after one uploaded side-by-side comparisons of the stage set up from each of the tours.

Her appearance at Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour had been brought up and the She Wolf songstress said: ‘I was working! I definitely can’t tour with as many trucks as Beyonce, but I was taking notes.’

‘IM CRYING IT’S ALMOST THE SAME EXACT FONT AND EVERYTHING??? WELCOME BACK RENAISSANCE TOUR,’ one typed out.

Also during her opening concert, the singer brought out a large wolf onto the stage – similar to the horse prop from Beyonce’s Renaissance concerts.

Both Shakira and Beyonce have been close friends and collaborators for years, and worked on tracks such as the 2006 song Beautiful Liar.
