Netizens weighed in on the situation in the comment section. While some praised Cruz for his work, others slammed him for making a photo op out of it.

“Good job, Senator Cruz! Insane that our elected Congressmen have to spend their time covering up hateful graffiti, but here we are,” One user wrote. “Thank you Ted. Good job,” wrote a user, while another said, “Thank you, sir! This is just one of many reasons that we love you.” “Thank you, Ted! An excellent idea for all Houstonians to follow!” a user commented.

“Or… you could have just taken care of it without a post. The rest of us don’t need to see more than we’re already seeing either. Quiet works are good honest works,” one user wrote. “But they still have to look at you and that too is pretty disgusting. Making a photo op out this is disgraceful,” added another.

Kirk was allegedly shot dead by Tyler Robinson on September 10 during an appearance at a campus event in Utah. The shooting happened around 12:20 pm local time during a student Q&A at UVU in Orem, per a statement from Utah Valley University (UVU).
