Three men have been reported missing in Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office announced July 22.

Patrol deputies were notified after 7 p.m. that three adult men were reported missing in the Mississippi River near the Shelby Forest boat ramp, officials said in a social media post.

The men were fishing and swimming on a sand bar south of the boat ramp, officials said.

The search was conducted by SCSO Search and Rescue, Homeland Security, Shelby County Fire, Millington Fire, Tipton County Fire, Memphis Police Harbor Patrol and Aviation, and Tennessee State Parks.

The search was suspended around 10:30 p.m. on July 22 and began again on July 23.
