Wayne Rooney will be adopting his new role of house husband this year after leaving his manager post at Plymouth as wife Coleen is inundated with TV offers, insiders claim.
The former Manchester United player was sacked by Plymouth Argyle after only 25 matches in charge on Tuesday after the club fell to the bottom of the Championship.
The 39-year-old is said to be heading back to Cheshire to join his wife Coleen and their children following the disastrous seven months of management.
In a statement the former England captain thanked the club for his role, declaring that Argyle would always have ‘a special place’ in his heart.
Although the former footballer’s fortune may be taking a slight dip, Coleen’s is seemingly heading in upward trajectory.
The famed WAG has reportedly been pondering over several ‘very attractive’ TV offers following her promising stint on I’m A Celebrity where she finished second, the Sun reports.
And as the mother-of-four prepares for ‘her time to shine’, the couple are swapping roles with Wayne returning home to support, the source told the publication.

And as the mother-of-four prepares for ‘her time to shine’, the couple are swapping roles with Wayne returning home to support, the source told the publication.
The TV personality is reportedly looking forward to spending time with her children and Wayne before taking the plunge.
There are currently ‘four of five’ TV deals on the table, which could see her next to the likes of Lorraine Kelly and Holly Willoughby, according to The Sun.
The source told the publication that although Wayne’s wife is ‘sad’ he lost his post at Plymouth, she believes ‘every cloud has a silver lining’ as now they will be able to spend more time as a family.
However they also revealed Wayne’s presence at home would allow Colleen time to weigh up all her career options to the fullest extent.
‘Wayne’s football career has always taken precedence and rightly so given how successful he’s been,’ the source told The Sun.
‘But it seems like it’s now Coleen’s time to shine. She’s supported him for the past 20 years so now it might be his time to play second fiddle to Coleen.’
The mother of Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit eight and Cass six had rejected offers to be on screen in the past due to a packed day-to-day routine.

It comes as she’s revealed that only two out of her four sons will be flying over to Australia to greet her after her time on the show is over
The Sun also previously reported that there is potential for her to do other shows such as a remake of her 2008 series Coleen’s Real Women
Coleen previously said regarding her decision to go into the jungle that she was ready to take part in the hit show as her children were ‘a little bit older’, adding that she could now be away with them and feel ‘at ease’.
However Wayne’s managerial career has hit difficult times with his most recent club Plymouth not having won a game since November 5.
Wayne was appointed to the Plymouth boss in May – his third stint in the English second-tier after failures at Derby County and Birmingham City.
He also managed a US club following a glittering playing career where he was England’s best player for a generation.
His most recent club said on Monday: ‘Plymouth Argyle can confirm that the club and Head Coach Wayne Rooney have mutually agreed to part ways with immediate effect.
‘Departing the club with Rooney will be Assistant Head Coach Mike Phelan and first team coach Simon Ireland.
‘We would like to thank Wayne and his team for all their efforts and wish them well for the future.’
Rooney said: ‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Board of Plymouth Argyle Football Club, in particular Simon Hallett and Neil Dewsnip who I shared great relationships with.

It comes shortly after Rooney hit back at speculation suggesting that he took a mystery woman back to his upmarket flat, insisting it’s ‘simply not true’ she entered alone.

‘It is annoying that at least one newspaper has chosen to edit the footage to make it appear as though a woman entered the apartment on her own.
‘That is simply not true.’
